This theremin has GREAT range. Watch out for others selling theremins that you have to put your hand within a couple of inches of the antenna to play. YOU JUST CAN'T PLAY THAT TYPE OF INSTRUMENT. This Theremin has a Pitch control KNOB so you can set the pitch to go up or down as you move your hand toward the antenna. By adjusting this knob you can set starting pitch and sensitivity (as well as turn the theremin 'on' and 'off'). Pitch range is easily set for a comfortable 2.5 feet (arm's length), and can be adjusted. This THEREMIN has true Theremin sound - NOT A POOR SOUNDING SQUARE WAVE like some other Theremins. The output is a GOOD STRONG SIGNAL so it will drive your amp WELL. The Zep has a 1/4 inch jack to connect to your amplifier. Because you asked for it, this model of the Zep Theremin is BATTERY POWERED. It comes ready to play with a 9 volt battery installed. This battery will last a long, long time (as long as you turn off the instrument when you are not playing!). As with most theremins, this instrument requires an amplifier to be heard.
