The T is the metal piece that touches the positive and end of the AA batteries that need to bee reattached to the wire. now a days these little metal pieces are built into the batter compartment of the item. Back then is was simply attached to a wire. It has come apart. I am sure this is a simple fix for someone who know how to do it. II am not that person. The Clock take a AA and the Radio takes a "C". The "C" compartment needs the copper wires attached.
