Grace Glueck (1926 - 2022), a former art critic at the New York Times, was an early champion of avant-garde and feminist art. In her 1971 review of Yoko Ono's exhibition "Remembering the Future" at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY, Glueck led off with the question, "Is Syracuse ready for Yoko Ono and John Lennon?". David Ross, a museum employee, recalled in a 2005 interview "That evening the doors to the Everson were broken down because people had heard there'd be a secret Beatles concert. . .the entire museum was filled with people furious that it had been canceled, and we were afraid they'd trash the place. (Poet Allen) Ginsberg calmed them down". Some 6,000 people visited the museum show on opening day.
