On Sept 3, Mocada would groundout in 2 pitches in his first at-bat in the 2nd inning (that would be the first batted-ball of his career). This specific ball came in to play in the 3rd inning (Moncada's 3rd official MLB AtBat and 4th plate appearance), with Daniel Mengden pitching for the A's. Moncada would foul this specific ball, and it would be removed from play for authentication (making it the 2nd ball to hit his bat in the majors). On the VERY NEXT pitch- Moncada would hit a double to left field- recording his first MLB hit, extra-base hit, and RBI.
