His innovative sounds helped shape the musical landscape of the era, appearing on countless chart-topping albums. Following the launch of the Yamaha DX series, Tomlyn partnered with Yamaha’s Mike Malizola and Dyno-My-Piano founder Chuck Monte to co-found Key Clique in Studio City, California. This company distributed nine coveted DX7 soundbanks, most of which were programmed by Tomlyn himself. These soundbanks contain some of the rarest and most unique FM synthesis sounds ever made, making them a must-have for collectors and DX7 enthusiasts. The Best of USA ROM card features two banks—Bank A (Primary) and Bank B (Secondary)—packed with meticulously programmed analog-style patches.
