Description: Here's a coin you almost never see on eBay. There is only one other on eBay worldwide, and it's listed in Europe at $650. Super jumbo Silver Konventionstaler dated 1766 from the City of Bayreuth (the site of the famous Music Festival) displaying the bust of Friederich Christian with a mysterious knowing smile - perhaps he realized the coin would one day be considered a historic masterpiece! He was the last Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. The equally superb reverse displays the highly intricate coat of arms of Brandenburg-Bayreuth surmounted by an ornate crown and flanked by 2 lions. The only coin of its kind in our collection and a GREAT PLEASURE to own. We will miss it after dispatching it to one very lucky buyer. Almost 260 years old!!!
