Description: For sale is this vintage hard cover art journal from 1968. It was published under the direction of G. di San Lazzaro. This book comes from a series of art periodicals called XXe Siecle. The publication was printed in Italy and the text in the articles is in French. This is a hard cover periodical that was printed in an edition of about 3000. The cover is a glossy reproduction of a Magnelli original painting. The book measures 12 inches tall and 10 inches wide. It is about 170 pages in length including gallery and exhibit advertisements from 1968 All the content is devoted to artists, art, sculpture and photography. Articles include subjects like the works of ,Picasso, , Miro, Marini, Esteve, etc. There are wonderful color photos throughout the entire book. and many black and white illustrations. Part of the popularity of the XXe Siecle series for collectors is that they always contained an original lithograph or two on stiff paper by a prominent artist. This issue has an original double-page color lithograph (photos 15) by Marino Marini and a 2nd original color lithograph by Maurice Esteve (photo 11). The double page color original lithograph by Marini oftens sell for much more than the buy it now price for this entire volume. The 2 original lithographs in color on stiff paper were printed by Mourlot !
