After Cleopatra (Josephine Davison) is mysteriously murdered before a negotiation to save her beloved Egypt, so her old friend Xena steps in to masquerade as the last pharaoh herself. She presents herself to Roman General Marc Antony naked in a rolled carpet to seduce him. Thus, she begins a romance with him to gain an ally for Egypt before others come to conquer the desert nation and save Egypt from being yet another savagely conquered Roman territory. Xena also settles another old score: facing off with Brutus, who had her crucified last time that he saw her! A wonderful card to remind the viewer of this excellent episode directed by Michael Hurst, "Antony and Cleopatra" re-introduces the seductive power of Xena...and another episode of Xena solving a political "who-done-it" to honor the late-great Cleopatra and putting a murderer to justice!
