It was not new when I bought it. Cover has normal surface wear- rubs to the very smooth finish of the cover may be seen at certain angles. Only mark to note is the small scratch which I have circled in second photo (3rd photo is close up). Book lays flat, no wear to the spine. No marks, folds, tears, or creases.
