Description: You are bidding on an WWII U.S. CAVALRY Wood Covers Photo Album/Scrapbook from LT Mat J. Buch. Large format, measures 12 & 1/2 inches tall by 16 inches wide. Front cover is hand painted and has a Buffalo Soldier with Guidon riding a white horse. Album has 21 pages featuring 73 mostly family photos and 15 blank pages in the rear. Mat J. Buch was born in Chicago, IL in 1913 and attended Indiana University where he received a four-year degree in Business Administration. Buch was drafted in 1941 and was sent to the Cavalry Replacement Training Center, Fort Riley, Kansas. In March 1941 he was assigned to A Troop, Third Squadron. In June 1941 SSG Buch was assigned to the Horsemanship Detachment. In Oct 1943 until May 1944 to Headquarters 1st Regiment CRTC. He then attended Quartermaster Officer Candidate School where he was Commissioned a Quartermaster Second Lieutenant. Group has many nice documents. The 24-photo limit does not allow me to chronical all the items in this group. I combine shipping on multiple purchases.
