The map in the background shows transportation routes in my opinion and are along the central portion of Africa, through the Middle East, India, and South Pacific. They do not appear to go onto Japan or along the north coast of Africa. Hence my grading this WWII photo and probably before 1943. Best guess anyway. Do not expect perfect photos.
