Description: WWII Memorial KIA B-24 Pilot/ Capt. William McKee 1944 737 Bomber Squadron, 454th Bomber Group. Original framed Memorial Poem with photo, measures 11 3/4 X 19”. Nice illustration of his wings, with a plane flying in the clouds. The illustration and poem are all hand drawn/ written by James F. Devine. Nice photo of McKee. William served as a Captain & Pilot on B-24H #42-52171, 737th Bomber Squadron, 454th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He resided in Pennsylvania prior to the war. (Pittsburgh). He was promoted to the rank of Captain on February 15, 1943. William was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was hit by German Anti-Aircraft flak and crashed in Italy during the war. He is buried in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville KY. Original frame has some wear. Paper may have some light spotting but some of it may be on the inside of the glass.
