This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Johann Pongrantz Johann was a Sergeant and fell in the fighting near Leningrad on January 27, 1944 at the age of 25 - just 3 days after his birthday.
