The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Hans Betz Hans was a Corporal in a Signals/Messanger unit and fell on May 22, 1944 in the East at the age of 32.
