There were several manufacturers that made machetes during WWII. They were primarily used as survival weapons to clear jungles and brush. The markings are hard to read on this one but it has a British broad arrow. Overall, this machete knife is in Fair - Good condition, considering its age and history. The rivets securely fasten the grip panels to the tang. They have a light layer of oxidation. The left side grip has large cracks and scrapes, the right panel has scrapes. The spine and sides have scrapes and a light layer of superficial oxidation. The blade has no nicks or dings and appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. Most of the original finish still remains. There are markings on the left side of the blade that are too hard to make out, but a broad arrow can be seen. The left side grip also has a broad arrow and what looks to be like "BC" or "BO". This machete will be a great addition to your WWII collection, or a machete knife collection in general. As with all used items, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
