These were eventually worn on the Uniforms by the Members of the Lafayette Escadrille/ Flying Corps. This insignia has the star above the eagle, indicating early war membership. Later insignia doesn't have the star. These are molded from an original but have pin backs and come with clutch back fasteners. Why did we go with a pin back and not pin and catch? So these can never be mixed up and mistaken for original items. So they can be attached and removed from uniforms without making any large holes and are easy to adjust. This insignia is a great looking replica pin from the front and nobody will see the pin back. I always combine shipping on multiple items. Buy American, alot of repro items are made ouside the country. These are proudly made here in the U.S.A. I send these out in padded envelopes with First Class Mai and tracking.
