Description: You are bidding on a SUPERB used example of a WW2 US Army M1943 Field Jacket Fur Pile Liner! Obtained from a veteran estate, I do have photos of the serviceman who owned this (which I will include with the sale), however I do not have any further history. The M1943 Field Uniform remained in production for over 40 years. After months of testing, a pile lined jacket (very similar to the tanker jacket) with knit cuffs and collar was decided upon by the QMC.The first liners were spec number 368A, Jacket, Field, Pile, O.D. approved 30 June 1943. The shell is O.D. 7 cotton poplin, similar, with two slash pockets. The interior is lined with woolen pile, and the neck and cuffs are trimmed with knit wool to prevent the wind from entering. The fronts is closed via 6 large plastic buttons, fastened through cord loops rather than buttonholesMade of Cotton Poplin, Woolen Pile, and Knit Cuffs, this Jacket Liner is in EXCELLENT used condition. Clearly identifiable, I acquired this from a veteran estate a few weeks ago for a film production. As it is in used condition, it does feature some slight marks, wear, and holes in the cuffs (common) but is otherwise quite solid. All buttons and loops are also present. Label is attached, but faded. Though the size tag is missing, this fits as a 36R. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
