There are not entries for every day. Dated entries are made every so often. The soldier was in the 1st battalion of the London Scottish regiment. The diary spans the entire war. He was sent into France in July 1915. I did not read the book so I do not know any particulars of his service I saw in the index he was in the hospital for a brief illness. I did see many entries for gas. This is a very interesting book written by a man who was there. This does not consider strategy, just tragedy. The work just tells a soldiers tale, a person who recorded it at the time. It accurately records the movements and the conditions suffered by those in the front line
