Description: Worcester Polytechnic Institute - 40”x 26” Hand-Tinted Engraved Print by Richard Rummell. Image from around 1900. This print was produced after 1960. There are other college prints in my eBay store...please take a look. Littig & Company commissioned artist Richard Rummell (1848-1924) to create watercolors of some of the nation's most prestigious colleges. The prints were panorama views, appearing to be done from an altitude of about 300 feet. While it is possible that the artist used a tethered balloon, it is more likely that he used some process of isometric drawing to convey the illusion of altitude. From these watercolors, engravings were made on copper plates.. In the 1960s, Paul Victorius purchased the plates, pressed each print by hand from those original plates, hand-colored it with watercolors and sold them through alumni offices. Condition is Used. Look at photos carefully for condition. Shipped with USPS First Class in a tube.
