Description: This funerary mask was purchased in Cairo in 1959 or 1960. At that time, it was known as the United Arab Republic rather than Egypt. While I don’t have documentation of this, this piece was purchased from a gentleman who traveled the world quite extensively. I’ve had many of his pieces in my home for years. This mask was purchased by me in 1987 and it looks exactly as it did then, today. It’s a stunning piece. I was told the wood is from a type of Sycamore tree. It’s quite light weighing in at just over 1 pound 4 ounces. The dimensions are 10” high x 7-1/4” wide x 3-1/2” deep. I’ll carefully package the piece and ship it quickly upon payment. I’ll cover the cost to insure the package to its sold value. Thank you for your consideration.
