This Steady Rest is "Hinged" so you can mount it on your lathe without removing the tail stock. The material used is multi-ply birch plywood and some hardwood parts. The convenient star hand wheels make for easy adjustments or opening the "hinge". This fits midi sized lathes that are 10 inch swings. The steady rest will fit midi lathes like Delta, Jet, Rikon, Grizzly, General, Central Machinery, and Shop Fox. Please contact me if you have fit questions. You can also use this item with your tail stock removed to hollow out vases and work on the inside of your bowl turnings. Also makes turning of long hollow forms, vases, goblets, candle sticks a breeze. Eliminate vibration while drilling with the tail stock. Also can be used to eliminate vibration on long spindles down to .500 inches. Please remember to wear proper safety equipment while using this item or any other power tools. Recommended maximum RPM varies depending on the overall diameter of the turning. Please use responsibly. The color of the wheel is subject to change. Currently using a clear wheel.
