ABOUT OUR WOOD BUTTER: Our wood butter is shipped directly to you from us in a new, sanitized quarter pint Mason Jar with a minimum of 3 OZ of wood butter inside. Total net weight including the jar is at least 7 oz (I say this only because some shops list their products with weight of the container included). It comes in one of the Restore old worn wood or keep your wooden utensils, cutting boards, butcher blocks, countertops, wood toys, etc by conditioning them with our wood butter. The beeswax is a natural sealant and when combined with the non-toxic food grade mineral oil it will prevent cracking and dryness and make for a longer lasting life of your prized wooden collections. APPLICATION: A little goes a LONG way. I apply mine by hand and run it all over the surface ... then I use the excess on my hands as moisturizer on my own skin 😂! I let it sit overnight and then wipe any excess off with a soft cloth or paper towel. If that takes too long, simply apply and let it set for at least 15 minutes and wipe off excess with a soft paper towel. For new wood surfaces, it is recommended to use at least 2 coats and let the coat saturate for 1 hour before applying the second coat. WHY BEESWAX FOR WOOD? We used to buy cutting board oils and mineral oils from the local store on al of our finished products. I found that with our personal products I was having to re-apply more frequently than I wanted to ... so I did some research ... The addition of beeswax into the mineral oil gives such a deep conditioning treatment and provides a layer of protective “sealant” that I could tell a significantly noticeable difference the first time I applied it (And this was days after I had applied a coat of mineral oil).
