The young man is presenting his lady with a lovely caged bird, while they sit under the shade of a tree, with the family's dog and few sheep enjoying their company. Signed A. LEBEY on the lid and has silver purity punch marks on the rim of the lid and on the rim of the base. The interior of the lid features a mirror, which can be removed and cleaned.
