Description: Original main slogan on the poster: ПУСТЬ СИЯЕТ СОЛНЦЕ МИРА! Literally English translation: LET IT SHINE THE SUN OF THE PEACE\WORLD POSTER ARTIST: LIVANOVA V. PRINT YEAR: 1964 SUBJECT: WOMEN, PEACE AGITATION LANGUAGE: RUSSIAN PRINT RUN: 120.000 PUBLISHED BY: "SOVETSKIY KHUDOZHNIK", MOSCOW SIZE: IN: 26 x 38 = CM: 66 x 96 CONDITION: ROLLED, GOOD Vera Livanova's poster resembles a picture from a children's book: it is unpretentious and simple, but at the same time focuses on Eastern culture with its symbolism and sophistication. The artist Vera Livanova, who studied at the theater institute as an artist, of course, learned the basic principles of effective staged compositions. As the main characters, she chose three women of different races, placing in the center a white-skinned heroine who unites all races on earth. This subconscious idea of the unity of all races under the leadership of the white, in fact, is the philosophical concept of white supremacism, the dominance of whites over all other races. However, Vera Livanova would be very surprised if she was accused of racial discrimination, it’s just that in the Soviet Union there was an unspoken attitude to world peace, which, of course, is dominated by Europeans, as the most peaceful, literate and balanced people. The blonde with a baby on her shoulder, as it were, embraces with her care also two other mothers with their children - a black woman and a woman of the East, whose baby joyfully threw up his hands, intensifying the play of diagonal lines in the composition. The feeling of excitement and melodiousness is also facilitated by the arcuate lines of the podium on which the figures stand, and the text at the top. The color variegation, however, is very well thought out. Blue fragments form a diamond shape, greenish-brown spots fit into a symbolic square, and white ones into a triangle. The bright pink blonde dress in the center fills the poster with a sense of serene happiness. www.facebook.com/sovietartposters Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
