What's on this DVD; Nurses of WWII 1st Film: "The Navy Nurse". This tells the story about all of the a woman joining the Navy, going through Navy training, and becoming a full USN Nurse and then deployed. It appears to me that the USN Nurses had it easier than the Army Nurses. Very rare and well worth seeing. 23:05 M 2nd Film: "The Army Nurse". This film shows women being trained in the army and then deployed through the world to help the wounded heal. From boot camp, to marching, to setting up a field hospitals (mash type) to serving on ships and planes to help the wounded. Plus medals for these gals. 16:06 M 3rd Film: "US Army Nurse Boot Camp". Somewhere in a California Desert Army training ground, nurses get a full boot camp treatment. This is one of the rarest films I have ever seen. The women march, break for field mess call, dig ditches for latrines, then, hit the dirt for some live fire action where the have to crawl under barbed wire with real machine guns firing over them. Plus live back at the tent city. Laundry, washing hair using there helmets, brushing their teeth, etc. All the convenience of home, (if you like dirt that is) and then graduation. really rare stuff. 8:56 M 4th Film: "Women WWII Newsreels". 1st, Nurses transfer on the Rails for overseas. 2nd, Women help on the war front. 3rd, Women Nurses go to Australia. 4th, Women in Uniform-Home and Abroad. 5th, Yesterday's women's 1920's Uniforms. 6th, 1300 new women nurse cadets join. 7th, Women nurses on many fronts. 8th, Nurses move to the front in a Jeep. 9th, USAAF Nurses arrive in China. 10th, Nurses train in Hawaii for the war front. 17:40 M 5th Film: "USCG SPARS". This is a US Coast Guard SPAR recruitment film and explains how important women were to free up a man to fight. Young women who enter the USCG find a whole variety of jobs to fill. It shows all the things they can be in the Coast Guard and how much they enjoy their tour of duty. 6:13 M 6th Film: "Nurse Betty Boop". This is a Betty Boop cartoon where she is a nurse at an animal hospital. Nurse Betty tells everyone to "Do your part" as she goes about bringing cheer the sick animals to bring them back to heath. Great piece of history and worth watching. 7:05 MProduct No. CFDVD0035 Thanks for your support!
