He was a primary school principal, twice - at Tara and Goondiwindi; and a secondary assistant principal for religious education for 10 years on the Gold Coast. He was also a year 11 and 12 Coordinator, a secondary school sports master; along with various acting assistant principal roles in secondary school. Was a president and Secretary in Deanery and Parish pastoral councils. Surfers Paradise, Oxenford/Coomera Parishes and south Brisbane and Gold Coast Deanery.
