FROM THE INTERNET: This primarily Irish Catholic burial ground is located on the SW corner of Calumet Rd. and 43rd St., Brown Deer. Patrick Cashin donated one acre of land in the southeast corner of the north east 1/4, of section no. 14 Town No.8 North, Range 21 East, on Feb. 8, 1845 to Bishop John M. Henni, Rec. Vol. 36 for one penny to be used for the cemetery. Patrick died in 1879 at the age of 92 years. Many of his descendents are buried here. St. Michael's was called the Irish Cemetery although there are other nationalities buried here. The tombstones are a little different as they often have the date of death and the age of the deceased rather than birth and death dates. Many of the tombstones also give the deceased's county and parish in Ireland. The cemetery has burials from 1849.
