Description: Fine /Very Fine Advertising Cover with an unfortunate missing stamp. The cameo is very lightly embossed in blue. The cameo was designed by Calvert, a die-sinker engraver in Philadelphia, for S. & T. McCleary, Manufacturers of all kinds of Cabinet Ware and Upholstery and Dealers in Fancy Chairs, Looking Glasses, Feathers, Beds, Mattresses, and Cabinet Makers Materials in Wilmington, Delaware. There are two letters enclosed dated in September and October 1858 regarding the sale of McCleary land in Missouri. The cameo cover is quite rare with only two copies known and documented in the book Delaware Cameo Advertising by Preston Davis. See scans of front and back for all details.
