Description: William Trost Richards, born in Philadelphia in (1833-1905), made the natural world his subject. This book celebrates his life and work with reproductions of 230 pieces in pencil, watercolor, charcoal and oil. He began his career as an artist of the Hudson River School. Richards' place in American art is the focus of an essay by Carol M. Osborne, the curator at the time the works were donated to Stanford University. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We sell books and other items donated by our community members to raise money for our local library system. We fund services, reading programs and purchases not in their budget.
