Description: Estate FindWilliam WilhelmiWayland RandolphCeramic Bowl We offer a ceramic bowl crafted in 1970s by the ceramic artists William “Bill” Wilhelmi and Wayland Randolph. The bowl is initialed on the base by both artists.The bowl was hand thrown and left in a bisque stage never finished with the decoration and glaze. There are two pencil lines encircling the bowl in preparation of a future design.The bowl weighs 0 pounds 15.2 ounces and measures 4 1/8” in height with a diameter of 5 1/2”.The ceramic bowl is presented in very good vintage condition. Provenance David Starr Chapman, American (1958-2023)Raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, David would tell stories of spending his summers at his grandparents home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In 1964 Elizabeth Taylor moved next door when Richard Burton was filming Night of the Iguana and she would make grilled cheese sandwiches for David and his brother. David later studied ceramics under Bill Wilhelmi in the 1970s and collaborated on many pieces with him. David’s artwork included ceramics, sculpture and silk screening. Many of his ceramics were signed with a five point star flanked by D and C.
