Description: Lightly, Used (Newish)- Westside Model Company (Unknown builder) HO Caterpillar Industrial Switcher 0-4-0. Some light tarnish in spots on sunshade, cab roof and frame. Some solder spots around castings. No foam damage or fingerprint oil damage. Runs excellent but noisy on DC. Wheels could use a touch up. Very little wheel wear. One broken Kadee coupler on the B end. See photos. This is a beautiful model that you don't see often in this condition. No damage that we can see. No paperwork or literature. Box is OK with scratches and one split corner. Foam is decent but we will bag and overpack the loco to supplement this foam. We only handle brass in lint free cotton gloves. It's just our way. It prevents hand oils and fingerprints from being transferred to the surface. I lubricated this locomotive and it ran much quieter and more smoothly. NOT NARROW GAUGE. NOTES ON BRASS LOCOMOTIVES AND ROLLING STOCK: Brass locomotives represent an entirely different sub-set of this hobby and require some inherent understanding of soldering, metallurgy, miniature mechanics, gearing, quartering and require good general mechanical aptitude. Often new brass models ran poorly right from the box and required the owner to do some degree of tuning and adjusting. This was an expected part of brass ownership. This is a well-known fact. None of these brass models are READY-TO-RUN. All brass sold on my eBay store is thoroughly inspected, operated on a 12V test track and photographed. We do not operate this brass on our layout, around curves or pulling trains. Brass locomotives are notorious for electrical shorts on turns when one piece of energized metal contacts a ground. This is an important part of tuning your model and is part of the joy of brass ownership. It is not our responsibility, nor an issue warranting the return of a model. We do not disassemble brass models prior to listing. While we have the capability to do resistance soldering, painting and quality repairs, we will only undertake simple repairs such as replacing silicone tubing drive lines, cleaning wheels or lubricating a model prior to sale. We do not solder parts back on because we all know how that can end up! Notes on mechanical condition, wheel condition, zinc pest, loose or unsoldered parts (if any) and patina (varnish, tarnish, foam damage or fingerprints) are listed above. We do not take returns of any brass locomotives unless a major and material finding regarding condition was not found and disclosed to you by us. Further, many brass models have some degree of deteriorating foam in the box. We reserve the right to remove said "offending" foam during packing and secure your model more appropriately for travel. We are pretty sure you wouldn't want this crispy and powdery foam attempting to protect your model anyway. YOUR ITEM WILL BE PACKED AND PADDED IN NEW BOXES AND VIRGIN MATERIALS THE WAY WE LIKE OUR TRAINS TO SHOW UP, AND OFTEN DON'T. I'M NOT SENDING YOUR TRAIN IN LAST NIGHT'S SAUSAGE AND EXTRA CHEESE PIZZA BOX TO BE SURE! It may be funny now, but not when it's your trains that come to you that way!!! Don't laugh, that happened! A note about our packaging: We only use new boxes or cardboard. All packaging materials and Kraft box tape are renewable and recyclable. Plastic in disposable packaging is just wrong for trains. I despise packing peanuts, so there's that too. We only charge actual cost of shipping from the carrier. No mark-ups on shipping to make up for an artificially low selling price to pull you in. We hate that game. I bet you do too. If you want shipping insurance on you item, please let me know via eBay messenger. We don't automatically provide it but can add it to the cost for you if you would like coverage. Meaningful tracking information is provided automatically when we actually ship the item. We do that quickly! We gladly combine shipping. If you add the item to your cart and when done, checkout using the cart icon. Sometimes eBay's combiner software gets wonky and the shipping cost ends up being higher than it should be, I will immediately refund the difference. We use USPS Ground Advantage for domestic shipping. It is the most economical method and I get discounts from eBay which I pass on to you. Sometimes 20% or more off retail rates. International shipping is done through USPS using eBay's Global Shipping Program, which we love. We adhere to the 3 day shipping window "on paper" since as much as we wish this were a full-time job, it's not. We will make sure your item gets out on-time, usually packed and ready to ship the same day and exceed your expectations. We get frustrated with vendors who print a shipping label and then sit on your item for three or four days before packing it up and shipping it out. Occasionally, your item will sit for a day in that status with me over a weekend if I get your order packed early. It typically means the Post Office is closed. Because the German government is making inbound shipping/packaging paperwork, package compliance and record keeping onerous, we sadly can't ship there or to the places we suspect to be "risky". We hope you understand. Thank You from us and thank you for supporting our family business. Any issues you have, please reach out to me via eBay messenger . I check it regularly
