Description: A very finely steel-engraved map of part of West Africa east from Timbuktu. It includes modern day Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon. It has good detail of place names and topography. Cartographer / engraver: Engraved by J & C Walker. Provenance: 'Maps of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge', Vol II, London, Chapman and Hall, 1844 Condition: Very good condition. Light age toning / handling marks. Some faint creasing. Slight curl to the paper at the very top edge of the sheet where it was once bound into the source publication, not affecting the printed area.
