Description: Welsh Dragon Christmas Ornament, gift boxed, Clara Crafts. Welsh Dragon: The dragon was chosen as a symbol of Wales in the time of Henry VII (15th century). This was done in tribute to the Welsh people who had made his victory possible, as he fought the Tudor claim to be the true rulers of Britain. The technique used in making these baubles is called 'decoupage'. This is the Victorian craft of cutting out motifs from paper, applying them to a surface and covering with as many layers of varnish as is required to give a completely smooth finish. NOTE: Decoupage baubles are often not perfectly smooth, as the layers they use often display slight lines on the surface. About 3" in diameter. Mail order only, no discounts.
