The recipient of the note received this book as a gift from “Mr. West” [i.e., Herbert Faulkner West, a popular longtime professor of literature at Dartmouth.] 64 pp. Slender clothbound hardcover. 8 x 5.5 inches. VG in a lightly worn and price-clipped dust jacket with clear archival cover. Abrasions on the front pastedown from removal of a bookplate or some other item (unobtrusive and partly hidden by the jacket flap.) Prior owner has circled the titles of three poems, (pp., 15, 28 and 45.) Clean internally otherwise. Sound, tight binding. A unique signed copy with an association to Laing's mother and a noted Dartmouth educator.
