Alec Waugh (8 July 1898 – 3 September 1981), a novelist as well as a food and travel writer, was the brother of Evelyn Waugh. In this book he writes of his travels in the 1920s to exotic destinations, including Tahiti, Martinique, Siam and Ceylon. A master of the woodcut, Lynd Kendall Ward (June 26, 1905 – June 28, 1985) was an American artist and novelist known for his series of wordless novels using wood engraving. His wordless novels have influenced the development of the graphic novel.
