Waterford Crystal Christened “Waterford Glassworks” after the small harbour town of Waterford, Ireland and the Southeastern capital of Ireland. This venerable 241 year old firm established in 1783 is now officially recognised as “Waterford Crystal.” Founding brothers George and William Penrose set out to produce the finest quality crystal for the table and home and to this day Waterford Crystal is renown for crystal with remarkable clarity and brilliance. Listing Description Beautifully proportioned, this lovely Waterford faceted flacon catches and refracts light in the most beguiling manner. The flacon is faceted with four differing wheel cuts; palm or lotus-form cuts at the shoulder, a wide band of square pyramid cuts at the waist (flanked by bevel cuts), flame cuts at the foot and finally a daisy cut on the very bottom. Substantial for its size, its weightiness is impressive in one’s hand and consequently not readily toppled over. The outer silver-plated top reveals an inner ground crystal stopper that may be used as a dauber to apply scent to your pulse points. Your favourite scent decanted into this flacon and placed atop a mirrored plateau will only amplify its brilliance. Dual sealed hence the integrity of your scents will not be compromised. A preowned piece yet in good condition with the exception of a small chip on the interior stopper. (consult photograph #11 red arrow) The silver-plated top and collar have been given a gentle polishing to a lustrous shine. Clearly hallmarked “Waterford” in their signature Gothic script on the collar and top as well as ‘SILVER PLATED’ in a simplified and reduced uppercase font. Approximate measurements; 4.5” in height x 2.5” in diameter. Smoke and pet-free home. Will of course be very carefully parceled to ensure safe arrival to its destination.
