Description: Water lettuce and dwarf water lettuce (Pistia stratioides) make a great natural aquarium filter! It floats on top and grows long, roots that provide shelter and hiding places for fish. As a floating plant, water lettuce consumes nitrates that build up from fish waste, leaving your water clean and clear and your fish happy! For $10 you will receive a handful (sandwich bag) of plants. For $20 you will receive three handfuls (sandwich bags) of plants. Cannot guarantee duckweed or snail free, but neither are harmful and the water lettuce is very healthy! Disclaimer: Please be mindful that extreme temperatures may cause a few leaves to turn brown. I do try to count only mature, healthy plants that will survive shipping. Please watch your local weather and time your order accordingly. If your plants arrive in poor condition, please take a photograph and send me a message. I would be more than happy to send replacements for the cost of shipping, or a refund! Please be aware that this plant is considered highly invasive in some states. Orders to WI or OH will be cancelled. Proper handling to prevent release into non-native habitat: Bag it: Remove flowers, seeds, roots, and fruits and place them in heavy black garbage bags to dry out before disposing of them. Typically these black plastic bags need to sit in a sunny spot for up to 1 month to fully kill the plants and seeds inside.
