Description: These 2 photos are digital reproductions from postcards of the WASHINGTON BRIDGE & HARLEM RIVER SPEEDWAY in UPPER MANHATTAN & the BRONX in NEW YORK CITY. Note the details in these rare 120+ year old images which are approximately 5" x 7", printed on genuine Kodak paper & ready for framing. The color picture is an artist's rendering from a postcard from the late 1800s and the bottom black and white photo was taken around 1900. The Washington Bridge opened in 1888 and connected Washington Heights in upper Manhattan with the Bronx. The Harlem River Speedway became the Harlem River Drive that connects to the East River Drive, which extends all the way downtown to the Brooklyn Bridge. The photos were scanned through a plastic sleeve with "SAMPLE" written over it so the quality is better in person...bear in mind that photo quality from the early 1900s does not compare with modern photography. I will be posting other digital reproductions of vintage New York City and Long Island street scenes, trains and trolleys in the next few days, so please check back to view my auctions. What great memorabilia photos for anyone from the Bronx, upper Manhattan or anyone who is a New York City history buff! *Feel free to view my excellent feedback from previous buyers of my photos* S & H: USPS Ground Advantage with delivery confirmation and tracking, calculated to your zip code.
