Description: Wasaga Beach Area #1, South Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada Wasaga Beach is the longest freshwater beach in the world! This light colored sandy beach stretches more than 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) on Nottawasaga Bay at southern tip of Georgian Bay, which is located just two hours north of Toronto. It welcomes more than 2 million visitors every summer. Wasaga Beach is divided into 8 Beach Areas, each with its own parking lot and washroom facilities. They range from the main beach (Beach Area 1 & 2) where you will find the main parking lots and majority of waterfront restaurants and shops, to quieter areas that are perfect for a morning jog or late-night stroll. This sand was collected from Beach Area 1. I visited this beach just recently in July 2023. I collect rocks/sand from all around the world. In fact, I have about 5000 containers of rocks/sand.I've been collecting for 50 years. This sample is 2 oz of shoreline sand. The sand was collected in the water. I have included photos of the area and the trip to the beach.
