Warhammer Empire Limited Knight Panther 1992 Games Workshop metal extremely rare

Description: This listing is for an extremely rare Knight Panther miniature by Games Workshop for the Warhammer Fantasy Battles miniatures game. This particular Knight Panther miniature was available only for a short while in 1992, when the Knights Panther were first released. Soon after release, the miniature was discontinued and was never made available again, unlike the other Knights Panther sculpts. It took me quite some time to figure out the story with this miniature, as it is not listed in any of the old Citadel Miniatures catalogs, and neither is it listed or mentioned on Stuff of Legends, Collecting Citadel Miniatures, or the Lost Minis Wiki. All I could find was the original Knight Panther illustration that the mini was based on from White Dwarf 147, and a blurry photo of the body in an old GW article about converting Warhammer miniatures. If you have a copy of WD 148 or 149, it might be in the catalog pages in the back. I don't have access to those issues, so I couldn't check. I'm guessing the mold broke soon after running some initial castings, and Citadel never bothered to remaster it. Pretty interesting! Thanks for checking out the fine products at The Vault of Wonders!
