Description: WALT DISNEY'S COMICS AND STORIES #31 (K.K. PUBLICATIONS 1943) KEY BOOK: Features the first Donald Duck story written for this magazine by CARL BARKS. Includes part 2 of "THE BELLHOP DETECTIVE", a MICKEY MOUSE adventure drawn by FLOYD GOTTFREDSON. Other artists in this issue include ALEX TALIAFERRO, KEN HULTGREN, and BOB GRANT. GOOD MINUS (1.8) condition. This is a complete but low-grade copy of this magazine with remarkable rich color and original gloss. The big problems to note are that the front cover is fully split from the back (see photos) and the coupon is clipped from the centerfold. There is a tiny crease at the bottom right corner tip. On the back cover there is a crease at the top left corner. The first few wraps on the interior are split at the bottom 2". The middle wrap is loose at the single staple, but still has great edge integrity. Most books this old with loose centerfolds tend to have rough and ragged edges. The coupon clipped does affect the writing story but does not affect any story art panels. Despite the troubles mentioned, this book presents far better than graded and it's my opinion that some professional restoration should be considered. Priority Shipping is $10 to the United States.
