Clarence William Heath Robinson was an English cartoonist and illustrator whose characterful art is still popular today. He was born in London into a family of artists including his father and brothers (Thomas Heath and Charles). During his career he illustrated many popular books of the time such as those from Hans Andersen, Shakespeare, Rabelais and Charles Kingsley. Robinson's work was also in demand for various magazines and adverts. He also wrote and illustrated children's books himself including 'Bill the Minder' and 'The Adventures of Uncle Lubin'. In his later career he was best known for drawings of ridiculously complicated machines for achieving simple objectives. This portfolio collection of Robinson's earlier work includes hundreds of royalty free full colour plates and pen and ink drawings presented in 4 specially produced PDF ebooks. All the colour plates and line drawings are embedded in the PDFs at high resolution (300 dpi) so you can print the pages out as high quality reproductions up to A4 size. All the images have been digitally restored by our studio to show them as near as possible to the originals.
