Description: MCM Pair of Two Greek Roman-Themed Circular Ornate Gold Wood & Glass Plaques 10”. Beautiful vintage mid-century modern set of two Greek round plaques with metal Roman applied scenes. The round vases are a sturdy wood, hand-painted in a bone color with ornate gold scrolls and geometric patterns. The inside is a gilt gold dot pattern inner frame. The scene is made of glass, bone—colored at the edges with gold vines around the images. The base of the scenes is black glass. Each plaque has a different 17th century Roman scene, and they are a brass color and metal. One depicts an emperor-style warrior on his horse, and the other depicts a servant hading a plate and pitcher to a lady-in-waiting. These are so stunning, the craftsmanship excellent. They are in very good condition, the only issue is the brown paper protecting the backs are peeling due to age. 10” round each.
