Description: For Sale is a Vintage NORLUND Saddle Axe, Double Bit -Cruiser Hatchet w/ Original Handle & Sheath Description: Really Neat Old Norlund Hudson Bay Double Bit Saddle Cruiser Hatchet / Axe with Original Handle, Decal and Sheath is in Good Condition. The Axe Head has a slight wiggle, not terrible - a good drop on the handle would most likely seat it. The pictures make the axe look rusty.... there is some light oxidation here and there but what your seeing is the Shiny Metallic red / orange original coating. I tried to get this coating on film but it was hard to capture. It looks like a colored tin foil.... I'm sorry, I don't know how to describe it with words. It's beautiful. I know it's original because of the Hudson Bay sticker, you can see where the sticker has peeled back over time and the coating is under where the tag used to lay. . The Handle is solid with no cracks / splits or breaks. The Sheath is a little stiff on the back side but is still pliable with no signs of rot. The Snaps appear to work fine.
