Wuersh (1919-1996). From the New Bedford Standard Times newspaper dated November 18th, 1996, a notice was posted of the death on Friday November 15th of Robert F. Wuersch of Fall River (Mass). The obituary stated that Mr. Wuersch was born in Emmetten, Switzerland and "came to the United States in 1948 and lived in New York City until moving to Fall River in 1961". The article goes on to say that "Mr. Wuersch founded Wuersch Clocks Manufacturing Company in the former Kerr Mill in Fall River and continued working throughout the years despite some serious illnesses". Wuersch had been associated with an aircraft manufacturer and paper factory in Switzerland and worked with cheese exporters in Switzerland in the late 1930's. The article goes on to report that Mr. Wuersch was fluent in French, Spanish, Italian, German and English. He founded an importing business in New York City in 1951. His firm produced enamel on copper decorative items from 1957 until the 1970's... Please see my other pieces from this artist. eBay will combine shipping automatically when you check out.
