Description: This is an actual vintage crochet granny square afghan that I obtained from a friend who's Grandma made it by hand. As in most vintage items, there are small flaws, as described below. This blanket still has a lot of life left in it. Let's give it a new home! Crochet is a fiber art form that cannot be replicated by machine. Truly crocheted pieces are actually all made by hand, taking many hours of time for the artist to make it. Crochet is made using a hook and yarn or thread. In contrast, knitting is made by either a machine, or hand-made using two or more pointy needles. Condition/Flaws: Good Vintage Condition with a few flaws and some repair work done. See all photos for condition. This is a truly vintage item that was made by a friend's grandmother, likely in the 60s-70s. I noticed 2 marks/discoloration on the fabric that look to be rust marks (see pictures). I also noticed a few areas where thread had been used to re-sew some of the squares together. Although the close-ups show that the thread used for repairs is a slightly different color than the original black yarn, the repairs are not very noticeable when viewing the entire blanket (compare to larger blanket views). Measurements: This handmade afghan measures approximately 55 inches by 41 inches. Shipping: We ship within two business days, but in most cases we ship the next day if at all possible.
