Description: Vintage Chinese Porcelain Vase HAND PAINTED RAISED EDGE BAMBOO Blue White Signed 7.75" high, with 3.25" opening at top. 15.5" circumference at shoulder. Base is 3".This style is known as a 'shadow vase' where the paint and glaze surface is raised up [feelable at outline] and then a lighter color is used behind to depict shadows.Gorgeous bamboo shoots and leaves in front, and on sides and back, bamboo appears to hang down from the rim. Charming. Back of vase even has 2 tiny bamboo shoot buds pushing up from the base. Neck has a wide band of deep cobalt blue under rim Heavy, beautifully made piece. Hand signed with a mark resembling a U on underside. See all pics and use zoom. All size measurements in description. Very collectible. Excellent condition- No flaws or damage of any kind. Pristine. No nicks chips cracks crazing fading or repair. Wonderful delicate shadings and varying lightness and darkness in the blue tones.
