Description: Exquisite vintage Chinese Bronze Crane Sculptures in original box with wood stand. The cranes are one piece of cast bronze and are featured standing on the backs of turtles, the Chinese symbol of longevity. They are detailed with textured feathers and the turtles have realistic segments on their backs. The figures have their natural verdigris patina from age. I have not cleaned or tried to polish them as some buyers prefer the charm of the aged patina. One crane is slightly taller than the other standing at 10 1/8" tall. It is 1 7/8" wide and 3 1/2" from front to back. The other crane measures 7 7/8" tall, 1 3/4" wide and is 2 3/4" from front to back. The cranes come in their original box which is tan with a fabric textured covering. Chinese Bronze is printed in both English and Chinese in gold on the front. The box fastens on the side with a magnetic closure. It is lined with yellow/gold silk. One end of the box has another magnetic strip that says "Built in Base" in Chinese. The strip opens to a compartment that holds a wooden stand for the cranes. The stand is dark brown and measures 8 1/4" long, 3 1/8" wide and sits 5/8" high. The front has a gold tone metal plaque that reads, "The Chinese Bronzes" again in both English and Chinese. The bottom of the stand is covered in brown felt. Both sculptures are in excellent, undamaged condition. The box has some wear along the edges and corners.
