Description: Vintage African MAN PLAYING DRUM Mahogany Wood Figure Statue HAND CARVED Faux Ivory Size 9" high, oval base is 6.75" x 4 1/8"Exquisite Quality, Hand Carved From Mahogany WoodThis gorgeous sculpture is carved with wonderful and very lifelike skill, and portrays a figure of a man who is playing a large, traditional drum. Drum top and sides are embellished with faux ivory [acrylic] embellishments to add contrast and detail. Excellent detail to expression, hair and shape of limbs, etc. and the drum is also carved quite realisticallyThis piece was originally purchased from Novica and was quite expensive. The figure and the drum are actually screwed to the base from underneath, not just glued down. Very good condition- would list as Excellent but he is missing one drumstick in his left hand. Hand is undamaged. Absolutely gorgeous without any other flaws: no nicks chips cracks scratches or damage to wood. Very collectible.
