What can I say about this awesome Olympic? This unique HiFi epitomizes the brilliant American craftsmanship that ruled back in the day... from it's incredible sound, to it's unique modern designand solid construction.This beauty was made in 1960, is full tube powered, has been completely restored, and sounds simply amazing! Here's a small sample! Watch Video Measuring 37 inches long, by 17 1/2" deep, standing 31 1/2" tall.The main cabinet has two top lids that open and close independently from each other: one for the radio section, and one for the record player; A rare and unique feature!!The cabinet was completely recovered with beautiful vintage style coverings, the same kind they used back in the 50's! There are solid Brass accents that decorate the front of the unit, along with elegant gold piping. The gold 4 speed record changeroperates super smooth, was completely taken down, cleaned and re-lubed in order to operate as it should.See photo of the many parts that were redone!Tonearm has a new stereo cartridge and stylus installed,so you can play both Mono or Stereo records on this.You can conveniently switch the amplifier to either "Mono" or "Stereo" by the main controls.You can also stack records, and each will drop in turn, and play through. This beauty comes with a fun 45 adapter, which allows you to stack 45 records, and they will all play automatically!When not in use, the automatic adapter sits conveniently inside it's holder to the right of the changer. Another bonus is the handy record holder located right in the middle of the unit! Lot's of room to store your LP's!!! The main control panel with it's handsomely designed black and brass knobs, allow you to adjust:StereoTuning for both FM & AM, Mono Phono, Stereo Phono, Dual Loudness DualTreble channels with main ON/OFF, and Dual Bass channels. The AM-FM Radio sounds incredible!! There are dual pilot lights, that illuminate the Aqua Blue lettering of the radio dial, along with a unique Aqua Blue tuning indicator light, which is actually a vacuum tube, that lets you know when your station is all tuned in! To complete it all, Olympic used an Aqua Blue jeweled pilot lens in the front of the unit, which lets you know that the unit is on... What a design!!! The 11 tube amplifier sounds simply beautiful, having all new capacitors and resistors for extended life.... Tubes consist of: dual 6BQ5's, Dual 12AX7's,a 5Y3 rectifier, Dual 6AU6's, etc...You simply can't beat that incredible warm, full tube punch this amplifiers puts out! (See photo of the many amplifier parts that needed replacing!) This console also has RCA hook up's in the back for running a CD player, iPhone, iPad, etc!Your modern devises will sound incredible through this Olympic's powerhouse amplifier and speaker system... Six Alnico speakers, with new crossover capacitors,provide the full sound you would expect from a vintage player.Additionally this comes with it's original operating manual, with instructions on all of it's amazing features!! What more can I say?An all together fantastic design from back in the day, when every detail mattered...form as well as function!
